Robe on, feet up, tab open

Eight free games, one tab each,
for the bench beside the pools

When the last kettle comes off the boil and the boardwalk lamps dim, Clement pulls his robe tight and opens a browser tab by the bathhouse stove. The eight free games he returns to stretch from a patient zoo and a medieval village to a racing pit wall, a football club, a trade lane through deep space and two empires at war. Not one needs an installer, and none charges anything to begin.

My Little Farmies key artFarm, town & zoo

My Little Farmies

Medieval farm-and-workshop village

A medieval village where you plant the fields, open the workshops and turn each harvest into wares for your townsfolk. Production chains do the work that battles do elsewhere, so the settlement spreads only as fast as you want it to.

  • Roughly fifteen minutes a sitting
  • Desktop browser; mobile app also available
Who it suits & your first evening

Good for: Makers who would sooner tend workshops than march to war.

Your first session
  1. Sow the first fields at once so the workshops have something to process.
  2. Add each workshop only when the step before it is producing.
  3. Keep a few spare goods for the requests of your townsfolk.

Imperia Online key artStrategy & war

Imperia Online

Medieval realm-building MMO

  • Daily check-ins, longer planning nights
  • Desktop browser; mobile app also available
Who it suits & your first evening

Good for: Strategists who want every conquest to leave a mark.

Your first session

Battle Pirates key artStrategy & war

Battle Pirates

Naval warfare builder

Sea warfare where the ships are your own drawings. Each hull takes the guns, plating and parts you choose, then sail fleets across an ocean map to strike rival bases, while your own floating harbour needs turrets and repair docks.

  • Thirty minutes or so a sitting
  • Desktop browser
Who it suits & your first evening

Good for: Tinkerers who love fine-tuning a ship loadout.

Your first session
  1. Try a few hull and weapon combinations before committing to one design.

iGP Manager key artSport & management

iGP Manager

Racing-team management sim

  • A short visit before each race
  • Desktop browser; mobile app also available
Who it suits & your first evening

Good for: Planners who want racing rather than a ball sport.

Your first session
  1. Join a league whose race times fit your evenings.

Football management that beats to a weekly drum. Each week you train one skill across the squad, chase signings in a market every manager shares, and hand out tactics and personal instructions ahead of kick-off.

  • A few visits a week
  • Desktop browser; mobile app also available
Who it suits & your first evening

Good for: Managers who want depth and a real player market.

Your first session
  1. Settle on a training theme and keep at it through several weeks.

Your first session
  1. Learn how Action Points refill before planning long trips.

The eight, cost-wise: Free to play; optional in-game purchases.

01

Free past the bathhouse door

Clement has played each of these for months without paying; the enclosures, villages, races, matches, voyages and hunts all belong to the free version.

Their studios earn money from optional extras: premium currency, decorations and shortcuts past timers. Lots of people simply ignore the store, and a household sharing one computer can normally switch buying off in the studio account settings.

02

A first evening with each one

Tap any button on this page and that game’s official site opens in a fresh tab, where a quick registration usually comes before your zoo, fleet, club or ship turns up.

Almost every one starts with a tutorial. Sit through all of it; Clement found every menu made sense far sooner that way than poking about on his own.

03

Games that carry on while you soak

In My Free Zoo, My Little Farmies, Imperia Online and BiteFight the world keeps moving without you: animals grow, workshops finish, buildings rise and hunts come home. Peek once with the morning coffee and once after the evening soak.

iGP Manager and Hattrick follow a fixed calendar of races and matches, so set your orders before each one. Pardus rations play with Action Points, which suits short, regular visits.

04

Guard each sign-in like a locker key

Each studio keeps its own sign-in page, so type your details on the studio's own address and on no other. Keep a separate password for each one and turn on the extra sign-in check wherever a studio provides it, so trouble at one login cannot spread to the others.

Genuine help desks never want your password. Any note dangling free premium currency if you share your login wants to take the account over; leave it unanswered.

How Clement settled on these eight

  • Each runs in a plain desktop browser tab, so your first enclosure, match or voyage is minutes away.
  • Joining costs nothing, and Clement has met plenty of players who reached the late game without opening a shop once.
  • The pace runs from slow zoo keeping to hard-fought sieges, so there is something for a sleepy evening and something for a sharp one.
  • Each studio still runs live servers and updates its game, which keeps the leagues, maps and sectors busy.

No. All eight play in a desktop browser. My Free Zoo, My Little Farmies, Imperia Online, iGP Manager and Hattrick can also be played through a phone app if you like; Battle Pirates, Pardus and BiteFight are desktop browser games.

No. Clement never paid to begin any of them, and nothing essential is locked behind a purchase; any extras are up to you.

No. Each comes from its own outside studio, and the buttons on this page only point you to the official sites.

No. Each game belongs to its own studio, so every one asks you to register separately.

My Free Zoo, My Little Farmies, Imperia Online and BiteFight keep moving while you are gone. iGP Manager and Hattrick run to a schedule, so set your orders before race day or match day.

My Free Zoo, with its slow-growing park, or My Little Farmies if you prefer fields and workshops. Imperia Online and Battle Pirates are the most combative of the eight.

Yes. iGP Manager runs live leagues, Hattrick shares one player market, Pardus and Imperia Online both have alliances, Battle Pirates pits fleets against each other, and BiteFight offers direct duels.
